About Singularities
During the Covid-19 pandemic, when the streets of Rome were emptied of tourists, and adherence to social distancing behavioural rules was encouraged, my usual habit of shooting candid street friezes and tableaus necessarily changed; no longer able to record interactions (or lack of) within groups of people, I found myself increasingly drawn to the individuality of single figures, recording the idiosyncrasies of people, always striving for a humanist rather than voyeuristic approach, eschewing flash or invasive "in your face" photography.
