Who am I?
I am Deborah Swain, a creative professional, and the owner and operator of deborahswain.com. My website address is: https://deborahswain.com.
This privacy policy governs the privacy of users and visitors to the above-mentioned website.
If you have given me your email address (by emailing me, buying something from this website or sending a message via the website contact form, for example) you should read this to reassure yourself that I am looking after your data responsibly. If any website visitors understand these rules better than me and believe there is something else that I should be doing, please don’t hesitate to let me know. I value the security of your information extremely highly and will never intentionally breach the rules. However, the rules are designed for large organisations and this website is owned by an amateur photographer just doing her best to keep up. The use of cookies, analytics tracking, and more technical issues related to this website and data collection is addressed below.
My lead data protection supervisory authority is the The Italian Data Protection Authority – Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (http://www.garanteprivacy.it/). My website is also aimed at an English-speaking readership, however, so in order to create this document I consulted the UK ICO booklet, “Preparing for the General Data Protection Regulation – 12 Steps to Take Now”.

Name and email address
Email addresses of people who have emailed me via the contact form and to whom I have replied – automatically saved in my Gmail account – are collected only for the purposes of replying to emails.
I will never share this information with anyone, unless specifically indicated and when explicit consent has been given by the message sender, or in the highly unlikely event that I am legally obliged to do so.
If someone randomly asks for another person’s email address, unless both are known closely to me, I will always check with the other person first.
Analytics
Google Analytics is used to monitor traffic levels, search queries and visits to this website. Google Analytics stores IP addresses anonymously on its servers in the US, and neither I nor Google can associate your IP address with any personally identifiable information. To find out more please visit: How Google uses data when you use our partners’ sites or apps.
With whom do I share your data?
I will never share your name or email with anybody unless legally obliged to do so.
If someone asked to see their data stored via Gmail I will take a screenshot of their email entry/entries.
Contact information
If you require any more information or have any questions about our privacy policy, please feel free to contact me by email at deborah@litwebstudio.com
Subject access requests
We aim to respond to all requests within 72 hours and usually much sooner.
Lawful basis for processing data
If people have emailed me, they have given me their email address, and usually, their names. I do not actively add it to a list, but Gmail will save it automatically. I will not add it to any database or spreadsheet unless someone asks me to or gives us explicit and detailed permission.
Children
It is plausible that young people may email me, but I would not know their age unless they told me – and I only have their word for that. I would not deliberately keep their email address (but Gmail would save it in my account.) Since I am not “processing” their data, I am not required to ask for parental consent. I might reply to the email but will not actively contact them again.
Data breaches
I have done everything I can to prevent this, by strongly password-protecting my computers, mobile devices, Gmail, DropBox, social media, and Adobe accounts, and using two-factor verification where available. If any of those organisations were compromised, I would take steps to follow their advice immediately. My website is hosted by Adobe and is protected using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) technology. SSL is the industry standard method of encrypting personal information. Access to back end website management is also protected by strong passwords and two-factor verification.
Communicating privacy information
I have put this document on my website with a link from the contact form and in the footer.
