About Familiar Haunts
I never stake out sites or contrive shots in my candid street photography and unstaged tableaux vivants. Having said that, I am undeniably drawn back to certain familiar places - the streets, railway bridges, shopping centres, car parks - that make up the urban fabric of my local neighborhood. I find myself continuously documenting them through landscape and urban still life photographs.
Familiar places, familiar spaces, familiar faces.
Every moment of the day will bring subtle changes to any everyday scene: changes in season, weather, light, different smells, air pollution, traffic, fellow pedestrians, noisy roadworks, are all part of the constant flux of urban living and inform the way a photograph is made. Even the clothes on our backs, and the speed we walk will make every single shot different. No day is ever quite the same.
